Funky Styling and Funky Parts are the trading name for Funky Car Design Ltd, a UK company registered at Companies House (www.companies-house.gov.uk) with company number 04897488. Funky Car Design Ltd is also registered in the UK with HM Revenue & Customs (www.hmrc.gov.uk) for VAT with registration number 835 0298 44.

But how did all this start? The history of Funky Car Design Ltd is checkered from the offset. It was back in 2000 that the company’s director, John Neville went and bought a Mitsubishi FTO. Previous to this John was involved with performance Peugeots, tuning a number of 205 GTis. With the purchase of the FTO a passion for Japanese cars was born and the car was quickly put on a path of modifications which continue to this day.

It soon became apparent that there was a lack of aftermarket parts for the FTO at this time. Undeterred John either sourced the parts himself, or developed new parts with the input of other owners who he met through the FTO Owner’s Club. It soon became known that John could source parts for these rare import cars and a growing many other owners began purchasing their products from him.
By summer 2001 it had become apparent that a small business could form from this initial demand. With Chris’ FTO having been called the Funky FTO (www.funky-fto.co.uk) and with products being made and sold for the FTO it was easy to come up with a trading name of Funky Product, which was also registered by us at Companies House with company number 05296333.

With a website live by end of 2001 and a growing customer base the business venture flourished. Giving up his day job as a graphic designer, John dedicated himself full time to the business. Along the way a number of other people joined in the venture and it grew more, encompassing all the main Japanese performance cars.

It was late 2004 that we began to realise that the way Funky Product had developed was preventing us from expanding. We decided to re-brand from the name we started with, Funky Product, to our new name Funky Styling. We also expanded our range to include European cars, bringing our experience and reputation from our involvement with Japanese cars to European car makes too.

Now with new premises, new integrated computer systems and the best members of staff we have quickly extended our range to become one of the biggest on the Net. Success continued as we started the Services side of the business in the summer of 2005, providing bespoke car modifications to a range of customer cars.

Funky Car Design Ltd continues to grow with your help and we would like to thank everyone who has helped us get to where we are today.
